Nature Photography - Focus on Flora, Fauna, & The Forest - John C. Campbell Folk School - Coming Soon 2027!
Coming Soon!
Next September 12-17, 2027 I'll be teaching a new photography workshop at the John C. Campbell Folk School in Western North Carolina. Although I've been teaching there since 2011 and have typically taught travel photography workshops, it's time to try something new! It's going to be "Nature Photography - Focus on Flora, Fauna, and The Forest". I'm so excited about this!
Being out in nature, hiking along trails, and spending time in the garden offers such a sense of peace, happiness, and tranquility for me. Capturing it in photographs adds to the experience!
The class description is below!
Find your inspiration outside! Practice composition and lighting skills while photographing a variety of flora, fauna, and landscapes. Capture everything from mountain scenery to the tiniest insects with your digital DSLR or mirrorless camera. Together, we’ll explore the Folk School campus and take at least one field trip into the forest. All levels of photographic skill are welcome; however, students must be prepared to hike 1-2 miles over moderate terrain while carrying their camera equipment.
Registration is not currently available for the July through December 2027 classes at the folk school just yet, but it's coming soon!
Be sure to visit the blog for student work, from the two workshops I taught this summer 2026 at the folk school!
