A Sweet Fall Wedding in Greensboro

These two recently celebrated their one-year anniversary on October 21st. Jay & Diane are two of the kindest people I know - they so deserve the love of one another! They've known each another for years, as they are both musicians. However they lost touch, reconnected, rekindled a friendship, and fell in love. What a sweet love story!

Jay & Diane had a beautiful and meaningful ceremony at First Friends Meeting in Greensboro, with a reception immediately following at their home, also in Greensboro. They actually had four officiants each participating in the ceremony. It was truly a unique ceremony to experience. I love how in the Quaker religion everyone at the ceremony signs the couple's marriage certificate. Jay and Diane chose to see one another before the ceremony, allowing for more time to photograph the families beforehand in their neighbor's gorgeous & very lush garden. This also allowed more time for Jay & Diane to enjoy their reception and time with their guests.

So many friends and family chipped in to help the day of the wedding. Diane's daughter was matron of honor, her grandson walked her down the aisle, and Jay's son was his best man. Mutual friends Kathy Mooth Newsom helped with planning & coordination, Brandy Woodford and her daughter Carmen baked the delicious cupcakes, and Sam Frazier's band played during the reception. Emma Key's a local favorite Greensboro restaurant & also friends with the couple catered and the food was fabulous!  Diane has an amazing voice and during the reception she got up on stage with the band and sang a few songs, which was so very special. Terry and I had so much fun creating memories for Jay and Diane and it was so nice to be part of their very special day, which will be a day to remember!
